Kiko Rebel Romantic Lipstick Review

Monday, 26 October 2015

I have a slight obsession with all things rose gold so when I saw these in the Kiko shop in Brighton I had to buy them! At £6.90 each they're about the same price as your average drugstore lipstick. However, with their rose gold metal packaging they do have a sense of luxury about them, which I love! They also have a magnetic clasp which I've never seen before on a lipstick.

There were only 6 shades available in this range so I went for a mauve nude and a red wine shade.
These lipsticks apply very smoothly and have a lovely finish. They also stayed on pretty well all day, even after eating! I only had to touch up once, which I was very impressed with.

Like any lipstick I would recommend lining the lips before so it looks smooth and doesn't bleed. I believe they have matching lipliners to go with all their lipsticks in this range!

Make Up Revolution Baked Highlighter Review

Friday, 23 October 2015

I own the Make Up Revolution contour palette and as I love the highlighters in there, I thought I would try some others out and see what they're like.

At £3 each they are very affordable yet are still a brilliant product. To be honest I've only just got into the whole highlighter thing and I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money on one.

These highlighters are very pigmented, especially Golden Lights. They blend well and also are very appealing to look at. When I first swatched these I was very surprised at the quality of these products!

Golden Lights

At first glance this looks like a yellowy white colour, but when applied it's actually a beautiful gold champagne colour! I was so surprised at the pigmentation of this product and soon found out that a little goes a long way.

Peach Lights

This shade gives a more natural highlight compared to the golden one. As you can see it's not as pigmented as well, so if you're new to all this highlight business then this might be a good ones to start out with!

Milani Colour Statement Lipstick Review

Wednesday, 21 October 2015
First of all my camera's broken so I apologise that these pictures aren't very good quality. I'm using the camera on my tablet so fingers crossed that they don't look too bad!

Anyway, ever since I went to America in August I've been a massive fan of Milani Cosmetics. I really wish we could get them in the shops here in the UK but I am grateful I can get them online.

For me, Milani's products have the feel and look of a luxury brand but at very affordable prices. Their Colour Statement Lipsticks are £5 each and come in a range of different colours. I picked up a standard warm toned nude and a darker mauve nude. The formula is very creamy and hydrating, whilst also having very good staying power.

I personally feel that there's not much in it between these lipsticks and my MAC lipsticks. At a 1/3 of the price, I know which ones I'd rather collect!

42 Rose Femme

This is my favourite out of the two and is my go to colour at the moment! It's a perfect shade for this time of year, and it's not too dark that you can't wear it during the day. This also stayed on pretty well whilst I was eating my lunch the other day, so it definitely has good staying power!

55 Bahama Beige

This is quite a warm toned nude and comes off almost orangey which I'm not too keen on. On it's own it doesn't really suit me but with the right lip liner I love it!

MUA Single Eyeshadow Review

Monday, 19 October 2015

MUA are another affordable make up brand that I love, especially their eyeshadow palettes.

I wanted to add more single eyeshadows to my collection and at £1 each, I couldn't say no to these. I purchased 5 to try out, sticking to my usual favourite colours. After trying these I will definitely be purchasing more!

Honestly, these eyeshadows are amazing. They are so pigmented and almost buttery to touch. They blend really well and they have a kind of foil effect.

I am seriously impressed with these eyeshadows. At £1 I was expecting something that applies patchy with very little pigment, but I can not rate these eyeshadows highly enough.

I believe there are 34 in the collection, and they also have a matte range which I am excited to try out. In my opinion these are actually better than some high end eyeshadows that I own! Comment below if you've tried these and let me know what you think of them!

Make Up Revolution Blush Review and Swatches

Friday, 16 October 2015

I absolutely love Make Up Revolution and their affordable prices. They are probably most famous for their affordable dupes, and have become really popular in the make up world.

These blushers are only £1 each, so are great for building up your make up collection. I feel the packaging does reflect the price, but I was pleasantly surprised with the product itself.

They are not too chalky and are quite pigmented, which you might not expect from a £1 blush. They provide a very natural finish and are perfect for pale skin like myself, as they are not too over the top.

I own a lot of products from Make Up Revolution and so far I don't have a bad word to say about any of them! I would definitely recommend these if you're on a budget and are looking for a variety of shades for your collection.

Make Up Storage and Collection

Wednesday, 14 October 2015

I can spend hours watching make up collection videos on YouTube, often amazed by the amount of make up that people collect. I would love a collection like Jaclyn Hill's or Shaaanxo's one day, but for now this is my modest collection!

Below is an overview of what my make up area looks like. The mirror is from Home Sense, the desk is from Argos and the chair is from IKEA. My room is pretty small so I have to use the space wisely.

I got this make up storage from Home Sense. I keep some of my NARS and MAC make up in here so it's on display, along with my foundation and primer that I'm currently using.

These lipstick holders below are all from Ebay and are all tiered. I've got all my MAC lipsticks on the left and a range of others on the right.

I got this pot from IKEA to store the brushes that I use on a daily basis. I have more brushes on the shelves of my desk but I never really use those.

This letter holder from Whsmith stores my high end palettes and my Make Up Revolution contour Palette. Having them on display means I make use of all the palettes, rather than just using the same one each day.

I store my lip liners in this jar from Home Sense. I love collecting lip liners!

In the top draw of my desk I keep eye products. On the right hand side I've got eyeliners at the top, single eye shadows below and then eyebrow products. On the left I have more eye shadow and mascaras.

In the second draw I have lip and face products. At the top I have lip crayons and liquid lipsticks. On the bottom I have face powder, bronzer, blushers, highlighters, concealers and foundation.

In the bottom draw I have lipsticks that I don't really use, more eyeshadow palettes and a Real Techniques sponge.

I got this nail polish tiered rack from Ebay, which is great for displaying them!

Autumn Inspired Room Decor

Monday, 12 October 2015

I personally love home decor and interior design so I thought I would share with you how I bring autumn into my bedroom! Fall is definitely my favourite time of year and I love all the autumnal colours.

Leaves in a jar

If you follow me on Instagram (@charwbeauty) you probably have seen that I love adding leaves to my pictures to make them look very fall appropriate. I got these leaves from Ebay for about £3 (they're fake) and put them in a clear jar to store them. I keep this on make up vanity as it gives it a splash of colour and brightens it up!

Autumn flowers

I got these flowers from a local florist and Home Sense. I wanted very warm and autumnal colours as I usually have pink flowers in my room. These are fake flowers and obviously you can get real ones but these can stay up all season without having to replace them. They're a lot cheaper than buying real flowers every week!

Candles

Everyone raves on about candles around this time of year so I'll keep this bit short! I got these in the sale, I believe it was 3 for £3, and I will light them at some point. I'm not that big on candles as I'm paranoid that I'll burn the house down but they do make your room look very cost and autumnal!

Fairy Lights

I got these copper star fairy lights from Primark for £6. They're battery powered so there's no annoying wires trailing from a plug. Fairy lights instantly make any room feel cosy when it's dark, and these were such a bargain I could't resist!

Autumn details

I got this copper coloured jar from Home Sense in a set of three. The leaf design and warm colour makes it very appropriate for fall. I think they're candles holders so when I do light my candles I'll put them in there. I think they were £6 which was quite a bargain! Home Sense do some great autumnal decorations if you're interested.

Blankets

Having blankets  and throws on your bed is a great way to make your room feel cosy and I often find myself wrapped up in this blanket. Although it's more of a winter pattern it still works for autumn I think. This blanket was from Primark and I did get this a while ago now but I'm sure there will similar designs available this year.
