Cruelty Free Make Up Favourites

Wednesday, 10 February 2016
So I'm going to start off by saying that I am definitely not an expert when it comes to cruelty free make up. The products that I'll be talking about in this post are to my knowledge, cruelty free, but I do realise it can be quite complicated with parent companies etc.
I actually own more cruelty free products than I originally thought which I was happy about!

All of these make up products are particular favourites of mine, and are also cruelty free.

Single Eye Shadows

All of these single eye shadows are very affordable but most importantly are cruelty free.

NYX, MUA, Milani and Colour Pop do not test on animals and also make extremely good quality products that are reasonably priced. Win win!

Face Products

I use my B. Pressed Powder every day and have been for the past year. This cruelty free brand is exclusive to Superdrug and again is super affordable. This powder is also vegan which is an added bonus!

The ELF Golden Bronzer gives the skin such a beautiful glow and is a must during the summer months. They are also of course cruelty free.

My two favourite cruelty free blushers are the NYX blush in Peach and the Milani blush in Tea Rose.
The Balm is another one of favourite brands and they are also cruelty free! I love using Bahama Mama to contour and of course Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight.

Eye Shadow Palettes

I actually own a lot of cruelty free palettes so it was difficult narrowing down my favourites.

Too Faced are of course a more expensive brand but the Chocolate Bar palette is incredible and definitely worth the money. They are also cruelty free which makes me love this palette even more.

Make Up Geek are also a cruelty free company and do the most incredible eye shadows.

Wet N Wild, Make Up Revolution and ELF do some amazing palettes as seen above. They are extremely affordable and do not test on animals.

Lip Products

NYX, Milani and Too Faced again do some of my favourite cruelty free lip products.

Another cruelty free product worth checking out is Jeffree Star's liquid lipsticks. They are cruelty free and vegan!

Eye Products

My favourite eye brow products are all cruelty free. I love the Milani Stay Put Brow gel for days when my make up is heavier. If I want a more natural look then I will use my NYX Micro Brow Pencil or their Brow Powder.

The B. Smokey Kohl Eyeliner and the ELF Mascara are both products that I use on a daily basis.

I will be honest and say that apart from Barry M's nail polishes and this liquid eye liner, I do not really like any of their other products. This eye liner is brilliant however, and lasts all day without smudging or fading.

If I have got any of these brands cruelty free status wrong then I do apologise. Please comment below if I have!

NYX Haul

Monday, 8 February 2016
So I recently picked up a few bits from one of my favourites brands; NYX. I had quite a lot of points saved up on my Boots card which always come in handy now that they sell NYX online!

I've been looking for a setting powder and stumbled upon the NYX HD Finishing Powder. I haven't tried it yet but I have high hopes for it! I also needed a new eye shadow primer, so I'm excited to try this one out, especially as it's waterproof.

When I was in America I picked up a NYX Micro Brow Pencil and somehow managed to use it up! I very rarely finish a product, so of course I had to repurchase it. The only issue was they didn't have the shade that I got in America, but Ash Brown was as close as I could get. I also wanted to try one of their normal brow pencils. I got this one in the shade Taupe but it's really warm toned so I've been struggling to make it work unfortunately.

Now these lip liners are amazing. They are insanely pigmented and the colours I got are stunning. I will definitely be purchasing more of these!

These liquid lipsticks are new I believe so I picked up two of them in Vintage and Cherry Skies. I haven't actually tried these out yet but when I do I can do a full review on them!

Make Up Spending Ban

Friday, 5 February 2016
It is now February and I am happy to say that I have done really well at not breaking my make up spending ban!!

I guess my new years revolution was to spend less money on make up, and so far I'm doing  really well. I do believe that I spent more on my hamster last month than myself, and it feels really good to be saving my money.

Below are some pictures of the things that I did buy.

I bought a cactus because why not?!

I will confess that I did get a few bits from NYX, but I used my boots points and my mum bought me some of it as well... so I guess it doesn't count right?! And PayPal payments don't come out until later this month sooooo yeah....

I cut my hair short in January and have actually started attempting to style it, with the help of these products.

I got these Vans for only £23 which was a total bargain.

I also bought a sweatshirt with Billie Joe Armstrong on it.

At the beginning of the month I got this lovely vase from Next and the Ted Baker make up bag in the background.

So yeah, a pretty uneventful month!

Black and Burgundy

Wednesday, 3 February 2016

I have been wearing a lot of black and burgundy recently, and although I suck at being photographed, I love making these kind of posts. And thanks to my brother for being my photographer!

Shoes are Dr Martens
Black jeans are from New Look
Jacket is from Forever 21
Jumper from Primark
Necklace - New Look (I think)

January Favourites

Monday, 1 February 2016
Another month has gone by, which means another favourites post!

Make Up
NYX Powder Blush in Peach -
I am quite certain that I used this blush nearly every day in January. It is such a perfect natural pinky peach shade, and if you're pale like me, it looks great.  I also love that whilst it's mostly matte, it does have a very slight shimmer to it.

Benefit High Beam and Hoola -
I rediscovered my love for Hoola in January and I have been using it to contour, and for me it's pretty much the perfect shade.
Another favourite in January has been High Beam. I've mentioned before that this is one of my favourite highlighters, and it never fails to impress!

So if you follow me on Instagram (charwbeauty), you will have seen that I have been loving dark lips recently. I also had to include the No 7 nail polish as well in Temptress because it's literally the perfect winter colour and it looks so good on!
The two NYX lip creams are in the shades Transylvania and Copenhagen

These two Make Up Geek palettes have literally been my go to eyeshadows ever since I got them. I've got a full blogpost on them if you're interested in what shades I own and swatches of them.
I have also been obsessed with these two Morphe brushes and I use them every day when I do my make up. They are so soft and blend out the eyeshadow so well, I honestly own nothing like them! On the left is the B70 brush and on the right is the M139 brush.

Hand Cream
It finally started to turn cold properly in January, so of course my hands started to dry up. My two favourite hand creams that have managed to save my hands and keep them lovely and soft, are the Fat Face Hand Lotion and the Soap and Glory Hand Food.

Music
So January has been the official month where I rekindled my love for Green Day (and their side band Foxboro Hot Tubs). Oh and I found my Ipod Classic that is still going strong! So yeah, I've been a Green Day fan for nearly 12 years, but now that I'm older and have been through a load of crap in the past year, I can really relate to their songs. Obviously I was able to before, but now I feel so much more connected to them.

Blogs

My two favourite blogs this month (and that are always my favourites) could not be more different. I always find myself reading these two blogs whenever there's a new post, regardless of what it's about!

Catherine's blog is so beautiful and she takes the prettiest photos. I absolutely adore how girly and pink her page is!

Luanna's blog is just incredible. I love her originality and how she is so different to everyone else. Her creativity is such an inspiration!
