Make Up Declutter

Sunday, 5 March 2017

My make up collection is slowly starting to shrink thanks to my recent rather brutal declutter.
As you can see from the pictures below, there is rather a lot that I've decided to let go off. Some of it I simply threw away/recycled because it was old and well past is. All of the nail polishes went to my cousin and the rest will either go to her or I will donate them. I actually decided to keep the NudeTude palette and hopefully pan most of the shades, which I'll post pictures of on Instagram as I make progress.

I wasn't really using any of these so I'm not sad to see them go, plus the majority contain parabens and goodness knows what else. Most of it was also from the drugstore so fairly inexpensive. This whole process has definitely taught me to put more thought into what I buy and to not be as wasteful!

  1. I just had a clear out of make up i didn't use or got rid of anything that i had which was similar, i also had quite a few products which were almost empty and knew i would never finish the last little bit so just threw them out. I gave away all the good make up to friends and feel so much better for doing so, i now have space for some new things and definitely taught me not to buy for the sake of buying and wasting it.

  2. I did a declutter at the end of last year, and I agree, it teaches a lesson to not buy things just for the sake of wanting them. Since then I've actually been much more mindful of what I buy and my bank account thanks me for it! I'm shocked to see that a lot of Makeup Revolution is being tossed, since it's one of my favourite brands and their palettes are comparable to high end brands (I <3 Chocolate is so much better than the Too Faced Chocolate bar, in my opinion XD)

    1. I used to love Make Up Revolution but I personally prefer the Too Faced palettes and reach for them a lot more! Also some of the ingredients in their products look dodgy to me, especially since I've been trying to switch to more natural products.
